Princess Cadance(often stylized as Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, Ruler of the Crystal Empire), often called Cadance by the other ponies and the droids, is the third Alicorn Princess of , and the co-ruler of the Crystal Empire alongside her husband, Shining Armor. She, along with Celestia and Luna, allow the Confederacy of Independent Systems access to occupy all Equestrian territory, including the Crystal Empire. While she had no role in the Clone Wars era, she later plays a more vital role in The Last of the Droids era, joining the New Confederacy of Independent Systems and helping TF-1726 in controlling the banks. She is later made a general in the latter half of The Last of the Droids era.

History[]
Involvement in the Clone Wars[]
Unlike Celestia and Luna, who had major roles during the Clone Wars era, Cadance was more or less relegated to side appearances and mentions. She was at least aware of the Clone Wars, and allowed the Separatists to occupy the Crystal Empire, but she rarely appeared during that time, so this is uncertain.
After the Clone Wars ended, Cadance, along with Celestia and Luna, lost her title as princess during the Empire's occupation of Equestria. She was forced to comply with the Empire's demands or else watch the Crystal Ponies die, and she was later used as a workhorse for the Empire.
The Last of the Droids era[]
Cadance was later involved in the Imperial Invasion of Equestria, helping Twilight Sparkle and the other ponies fight the Galactic Empire and drive them off of Equestria. The ponies failed at first, but the conflict soon became the 3rd Battle of Equestria when the Separatist droid army was accidentally reactivated, saw that their leaders and everything they'd fought for was gone, and attacked the Galactic Empire. With the help of the revived army, the Equestrians and the Separatists drove the Empire off the planet. Knowing that the Galactic Empire would attempt to take over and possibly destroy Equestria again, newly crowned leader TF-1726 formed an alliance with the ponies, in the hopes of getting revenge against the Imperials. Cadance and Celestia agreed, but it took some convincing to get Luna to. They, along with the Mane 6, formed the New Confederacy of Independent Systems.
Dealing with In-fighting[]
Despite having worked together well with the Separatists to repel Republic and Imperial forces in the past, there was a lot of tension within the newly formed Confederacy between the ponies and the droids. Firstly, TF-1726 had a crush on Pinkie Pie, a feeling that was not entirely mutual. Cadance and the other ponies learned the hard way that the Droid Leader always gets his way, even if he has to threaten them. She wasn't present when TF attempted to kill Pinkie's friends when she refused to go out with him, but she was deeply disturbed upon hearing of it, as were Celestia and Luna, the latter stating this as a reason to not trust the droids.
That incident was just the beginning. The Droid Leaders each had their own flaw, and each wanted one of the Mane 6 as their girlfriends. Their idea of "impressing" them was to pull off destructive pranks, pull them into dates when they really didn't want to go, and, in the Commando Droid Captain (Rarity's) case, order them to fix their food all the time. This made the ponies upset, and usually retaliated. TF, who was paying for the droids, always punished the ponies as he saw them as 'disposable'. Due to the ponies' refusal to submit to his rule, there were a lot of civil wars between the two factions. Most of the time, TF left, and took the Separatist army with it, leaving Equestria vulnerable for attack. The Imperials often attacked during this time, but TF, mostly due to his love for Pinkie, came back in the nick of time to save them. Afterwards, the droids and ponies would apologize to each other, and the New Confederacy would come back together peacefully, however short a time.
Cadance herself didn't have much of a problem with the droids, though she was sometimes concerned when TF would attempt to wrestle power from her, Princess Celestia and Princess Celestia as he wanted to control Equestria. This battle for power, while mostly shut down by the princesses, became violent once as TF called them out for not caring about the army and using them as their muscle. Forcibly removing them from power, Cadance and the others lead a coup, starting another battle of Equestria. However, this example doesn't count, as Pinkie Pie told the story to illustrate what would happen if everyone didn't stop fighting with each other. Afterwards, Cadance and the Royal Sisters agree to get more involved in the war, and give TF power over Equestria.
The Great Battles[]
One of the first few battles that Cadance was involved in was the 4th Battle of Equestria, in which Palpatine attempted to once more destroy all of Equestria. In this battle, she was more or less regulated to combat duty, fighting alongside B1 Battle Droids and B2 Super Battle Droids as they fought off the Stormtroopers. After forcing the Empire to once again retreat from their planet, Cadence and the rest of the ponies decided to increase their guard.
Later, the 5th Battle of Equestria happened, when Palpatine, tired of his fleet's constant failure, came to Equestria himself to personally oversee its destruction. The result was near catastrophic as many ponies and other Equestrian natives lost their lives due to the onslaught brought on by the Emperor.
