Kalani is a Super Tactical Droid that appears during the late The Last of the Droids era under the command of T-series tactical droid TF-1726. He is in charge of the CIS Space Station and only appears in certain battles involving it.
Personality[]
Kalani is somewhat like his predecessor before him, and was always talking about the power of the Confederacy. He can be best described as a very loyal, calculating and cold droid, never letting emotions interfering with his job. While he'll work with people for a short amount of time, he isn't above turning against them if his orders dictate it.
History[]
Clone Wars[]
King Sanjay Rash was failing at keeping the Separatist-controlled planet at peace, so Count Dooku sent Kalani to help out. He complained that he did not have enough information to create an intelligent action, but made due with what he had. When Saw Gerrera was captured, Kalani was present during his torture. Later on, Sanjay Rash ordered the execution of King Ramsis Dendup to weaken the Onderon rebels. Kalani and his troops were present as Rash was about to execute Dendup, and when the rebels attacked, Kalani ordered his troops to attack, but Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano Force-pushed them all back, so Dendup was rescued. Kalani knew this couldn't go on any longer. He sent HMP Droid Gunships to attack the rebels at their secret base in the mountains. However, the gunships failed as well, and Rash, furious of all the loss, contacted Count Dooku via hologram to complain. Dooku, realizing that he can't win on Onderon, ordered Kalani to end the invasion, and leave with his troops. Kalani unceremoniously shot and killed Sanjay Rash, then followed Dooku's orders and left the planet with his troops.
Kalani, like the rest of the Super Tactical Droids, was shut down at the end of the Clone Wars, as Palpatine had no use for them anymore.
The Last of the Droids era[]
Kalani was revived later on during the later half of the second season. TF was building a new Separatist space station, and he needed someone to control it and keep it running smoothly. Remembering another Super Tactical Droid that could help him with this, he eventually had his troops locate Kalani, revive him and bring him back to the station, which was still being built. He told the Super Tactical Droid to not tell any of the ponies what he was building, and the Super Tactical Droid swore to it.
