The Heavy Missile Platform Droid Gunship Leader (HMP Droid Gunship Leader) also known as the Droid Gunship Leader is the leader of all of the Droid Gunships and a Vulture Droid squadron for the New Confederacy of Independent Systems during The Last of the Droids era. He is also Rainbow Dash's boyfriend.
Personality[]
The Droid Gunship Leader is known to be a very brave and loyal soldier to TF-1726, with whom he has a father-son relationship; the T-series tactical droid even goes as far as to call him his 'golden boy' and giving him special treatment, even among the droids' standards. While he is a brave soldier, he is very emotional; usually, a slight negative remark or a refusal is enough to send him into tears. Most of the time, this causes problems between him and his girlfriend, Rainbow Dash, who feels as though she can't work with him if he's going to keep running away from her if she tells him no to something, such as offering him a piggyback ride. He also has a penchant for destructive and harmful pranks like the rest of the droids, and sometimes they venture into straight mean-spirited territory; once, after the droids had taken over Kamino, he decided to launch Rainbow Dash outside of the base while she was sleeping, resulting in her almost drowning. The droids all thought it was funny, and he came up with a series called "Drowner Dash", which featured a caricature or Rainbow not acting anything like herself. While the droids thought it was funny, the ponies, especially Rainbow, didn't find it humorous. After a series of incidents that led to her almost getting killed, Rainbow Dash finally got through the Droid Gunship and told him that his humor was hurting her feelings and that he needed to stop. He agreed, although he released another film before stopping all together.
Despite his flaws, he really is a good natured droid, and truly does love Rainbow Dash, who he is always trying to impress with his armament and looks. Rainbow always reminds him that while his weapons are cool, it's his personality that she loves him for.
